Ovando: Wild and Refined, Organic and Crafted

Ovando: Wild and Refined, Organic and Crafted
Ovando: Wild and Refined, Organic and Crafted masterfully displays a portrait of Sandra de Ovando and her vibrant and eponymous floral design studio. More than a portfolio, the book tells the story of her journey—from her upbringing in Mexico, where vivid colors, rich traditions, and early experiences in nature shaped her artistic sensibility, to the opening of her first botanical gallery in New York City. Ovando is now a celebrated brand with locations in New York City and Southampton, New York, West Palm Beach and Miami, Florida.
At the heart of the book is de Ovando’s design philosophy: a balance of contrasts—sculptural and effortless, restrained yet bold, hard and soft. Through striking photography, readers experience her immersive arrangements, each a world of its own. Featuring signature elements such as cacti, succulents, and orchids, seasonal collections, and grand-scale events, the book expresses Ovando as both an artistic vision and a quality brand.
SANDRA DE OVANDO is the founder and creative director of Ovando, a luxury floral and event design company known for its original, textural, and emotionally resonant creations. Born in Mexico City to Spanish and Russian parents, de Ovando fell in love with nature, flowers, and bold colors when she spent countless weekends gardening with her mother. What began as a boutique studio 23 years ago has evolved into an internationally recognized brand. This is her first book.
