Twenty-three years ago, New York-based interior designer Iris Dankner emerged from a battle with breast cancer changed, feeling the need for “something bigger” in her life, and determined to find a way to help herself (and others) heal emotionally. That’s when she founded Holiday House, the fun, inspiring, and phenomenally successful New York City, Hamptons, and, most recently, London designer show houses that have gone on to inspire home design lovers and raise crucial funds in support of the Breast Cancer Research Foundation for 12 years.
This month—not to be stopped by the world’s need to social distance during the COVID-19 pandemic—the indomitable Dankner is partnering with media sponsor HGTV to host Holiday House tours virtually. You’ll find details on the event, and how to donate, on the Holiday House website.
ORDER THE BOOK: HOLIDAY HOUSE, published by Pointed Leaf Press, tells the story behind the show house’s first ten years, in a curated collection of interiors, outdoor living spaces, and gardens by more than 75 of the world’s most talented (and generous) designers, including (left to right in gallery, below): Melanie Roy, Frederico Azevedo, author of BLOOM and founder of Unlimited Earthcare, Inc.; Patrick McGrath; and Chad James Group.
